This
tour covers Quito's two most important sectors: The
modern and the old colonial section. We begin with a
drive through elegant residential areas, then we continue
to the Legislative Palace. After this, we go to the
colonial section to visit Independence Square (the heart
of Quito), the dazzling gold-leaf Compañia Church,
and the bustling San Francisco Plaza and Church. then
we go to the Panecillo Hill, where we have a spectacular
view over Quito. After we visit Quito, we drive 30 minutes
Northwest of the city in order to go to San Antonio
de Pichincha where, at latitude zero, an imaginary line
becomes reality on this enjoyable excursion to the exact
spot where you can be in the North and South simultaneously.
At the Middle of World, we will visit the very interesting
Ethnographic Museum and have a breathtaking panoramic
view of the Pululahua volcano crater. Return to the
hotel for overnight. (L)
