Early
in the morning we leave Quito, via the Avenue of the
Volcanoes, to Zumbahua where the roads go to an altitude
of 4.000m (12.000 ft). Zumbahua is a small town with
one of the most interesting indigenous people of Ecuador.
On the market day (Saturday) they come to the market
with llamas to trade their goods. On the way to Zumbahua
we will visit Pujilí and Tigua, then we will
visit the crater of the Quilotoa volcano with its lake
inside. Lunch. Dinner and overnight.
